Lois Bliss Herbine is an Internationally known piccolo player and recording artist. She is a frequent contributor to flute-trade magazines and has written for Indiana University Press and NewMusicUSA. She believes her professional classical music training gives her a unique perspective analyzing historical fife music. Herbine started the Philly Fife and Drum Company to celebrate the Semiquincentennial in Philadelphia. Her corps first recording project was for the Roblox game “Guts and Blackpowder”. They plan to record the fourteen newest titles from the 1776 fife tutor and will be performing two of the selections on PEW Arts and Heritage grant sponsored programs in Philadelphia in June.
