Deborah M. Child is an art historian, lecturer and independent curator with a focus on late eighteenth-century and early nineteenth-century American material culture. Although she enjoys all manner of research challenges, she particularly relishes projects requiring a genealogical approach such as her most recent biography on British army deserter Richard Brunton, published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society. She is the author of The Sketchbooks of John Samuel Blunt (Portsmouth Athenaeum, 2007) and a regular contributor to "Antiques and Fine Arts." Samples of her publications may be viewed on deborahmchild.com. She is a resident of New Hampshire.
