Author: Phillip Hamilton

Phillip Hamilton is the author of a number of books and journal articles dealing with America’s founding era, including The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family: The Tuckers of Virginia, 1752-1830 (University of Virginia Press, 2003; paperback edition, 2008) and The Revolutionary War Lives and Letters of Lucy and Henry Knox (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2017). He is a professor of history at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he teaches courses on the American Revolution, the Early Republic, and the Age of Jackson. He is currently writing a biography of General Henry Knox.
