Jack Kelly is a journalist and historian. His latest book is Band of Giants: The Amateur Soldiers Who Won America’s Independence (now out in paperback from St. Martin's Griffin). His new book about the Erie Canal, Heaven's Ditch, will be available in July 2016. He lives in New York’s Hudson Valley.
