The Fort Plain Museum, in the heart of upstate New York, is proud to announce its Third Annual Conference on the American Revolution in the Mohawk Valley–the 2017 conference features more authors, more days and more events. Friday Night (June 9) Opening Reception:

- Held at Fulton Montgomery Community College Theater
- Get a sneak peak of a groundbreaking documentary, “Benedict Arnold: Hero Betrayed” with filmmaker discussion
Saturday Evening (June 10) at the Tavern and Colonial Dinner (+$50 per seat):
- Starts at 6 p.m. at the Van Alstyne Homestead, 42 Moyer St., Canajoharie, New York
- Lieutenant General John Burgoyne, portrayed by Bruce Venter, will be on hand for discussion
- Features period authentic drinks (cash bar) and several period authentic appetizers, an entree and dessert will be served
- Free tours of the Van Alstyne Homestead will be provided
In addition to the main conference and banquet, two bus tours will be offered:
Bus Tour on Thursday, June 8 – Mohawk County Tour (+$40 per seat)
- On Thursday June 8th, there will be a tour of the Mohawk Country Historic Sites. These sites include the following: Fort Plain/Fort Rensselaer (the Fort Plain Museum), the 1747 Nellis Tavern, Fort Klock, the Stone Arabia battlefield, the Stone Arabia Church, the Grave of Colonel John Brown (the Hero of the Battle of Stone Arabia), and Old Fort Johnson.
- There will be a lunch stop at a local restaurant at your own expense (about $10-$15).
- The Bus Tour fee includes all admission costs to each historic site.
- A historical information packet including a map will be provided for each trip. Space is limited. Bus Tours will take place rain or shine. Good walking shoes, drinks and snacks are suggested.
Bus Tour on Friday, June 10 – Drums Along the Mohawk Tour (+$40 per seat)
- On Friday June 9th, there will be a tour of the historic sites included in Walter D. Edmonds’ famous novel. These sites include; the Palatine Church, Fort Stanwix National Monument, the Oriskany Battlefield, and the General Herkimer Home. Also included are several drive-by sites; site of Fort Dayton, site of Fort Herkimer, the Fort Herkimer Church and Indian Castle Church.
- A boxed lunch will be provided at your own expense (about $10-$15).
- The Bus Tour fee includes all admission costs to each historic site.
- A historical information packet including a map will be provided for each trip. Space is limited. Bus Tours will take place rain or shine. Good walking shoes, drinks and snacks are suggested.

Conference Hotel: We reserved several rooms for June 8 through June 11, 2017 at a rate of $79.00 plus tax per night which includes two queen sized beds at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham located at 136 North Comrie Ave., Johnstown, NY. To take advantage of the conference rate, guests must reserve their rooms before May 10 by calling 518-762-5425 and asking for the “Fort Plain Museum” rooms.
