Zoltán Pintér is President of the Michael Kováts Friendship Society, based in Karcag, Hungary. The Society aims to raises awareness of the American-Hungarian hero, Colonel Commandant Michael Kováts de Fabriczy. Dr Pinter is a history and geography teacher at the Nagykun Reformed Secondary School. In his hometown of Karcag, he is a member of the City Council and serves as the chairman of the city’s Education, Culture, and Sports Committee. Dr Pinter’s main research area is the history of Hungary, and the two world wars. He has published over 40 scientific papers. Anna Smith Lacey is executive director of the Hungary Foundation, a Washington-based cultural and education foundation. She has authored, translated, and edited numerous English and Hungarian language publications on U.S. and Hungarian democracy issues and constitutionalism. Her background is in international relations and American Studies. She is member of the Michael Kovats Memorial Commission.
