Tom (T.H.) Leighty has taught for over 25 years at Dover High School in Dover DE. He is currently the Social Studies Department Chair and teaches Advanced Placement U.S. History as well as classes on the Civil War and World War II. He was the Gilder Lehrman teacher of the year for the State of Delaware in 2021 and a National History Day Sacrifice for Freedom Normandy Scholar in 2015. His professional interests include American History, Military History, and Delaware History. He is married with two children and a soon to be grandson.
