Johannes von Thadden is CEO of Draco Aircraft, an US-Polish joint venture. Until 2024 he was an Airbus top executive for 15 years, serving as CEO of Airbus Poland and head of global space sales. As Director General of the German Christian Democratic Union he organized the election campaign in 2005 that made Angela Merkel Chancellor. Johannes earned a Ph.D. in economics and political science and studied history at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken and the University of Washington in Seattle. Johannes did this research mainly while working in Paris and searching archives in France, Germany and the USA. He published several books and articles on historical and political topics.
