The Fraunces Tavern Museum announced on March 22 that War at Saber Point: Banastre Tarleton and the British Legion by John Knight (Westholme Publishing) will be awarded the 2022 Fraunces Tavern Museum Book Award Honorable Mention on April 25 at an awards banquet. The 2022 award was given to The Compleat Victory: Saratoga and the American Revolution by Kevin J. Weddle (Oxford University Press). An Honorable Mention was also awarded to The Indispensables by Patrick K. O’Donnell (Atlantic Monthly Press).
The awards honor works on the American Revolutionary period that combine original scholarship, insight and good writing, published in the preceding year.
The Journal of America’s Military Past in its recent review of War at Saber Point wrote that, “Knight provides a well-written, balanced, and informative account focused on one of the Revolution’s more infamous participants and the fighters he commanded.”
John Knight is a regular contributor to the Journal of the American Revolution.
Congratulations, John!
